Hercules, the Huge Engine

Presenting Hercules the Huge Engine. Hercules is Sodor's biggest diesel and one of the largest diesels in the world. He is considered young among engines for having few miles put to his wheels, but wise and worth respecting for his considerable age and background. Hercules is the only one of his type left and has seen quite a few things in his life and, despite not being as old as some of the others are, he is one of the most looked-up-to engines around. Every wise engine be it steam or diesel knows not to mess with him, for Hercules may just know more trickery than any other engine around.

Hercules is based on a Union Pacific Railroad EMD DD35A D-D #70 circa 1965.
